To say the last month for Dieunerst Collin has been nothing short of memorable would be a severe understatement.
The kid who became a viral star in the mid 2000s with the release of the “Popeyes kid meme,” Collin revived the image in a Twitter post and found himself on a billboard weeks later.
Now he gets to see himself on TV during one of the most watched events in American sports.

A video posted to the Popeyes Twitter page on Monday revealed that the East Orange, New Jersey native will appear in an advertisement during Super Bowl LVII.

The ad features “all those things all the ads have” according to Collin, including a nice ride, in this case a white Tesla, puppies, and of course a meal offer called “eyes on the fries (or pies).”
What began with a soda machine and a six second video mistaking him for another internet star, has turned itself into a Super Bowl ad for the Lake Erie College freshman, proving that memes to dreams can be a reality thanks to NIL.
